City of Alexandria’s Annual Family Fall Festival Scheduled for Saturday, October 17
The City of Alexandria’s Family Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Armistead L. Boothe Park, located at 520 Cameron Station Blvd. In the case of inclement weather, the Festival will move indoors to Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School, 435 Ferdinand Day Drive. The event will be held rain or shine.
Entertainment includes performances by the Beale Street Puppet Theatre and the sounds of “Ken & Brad Kolodner” playing traditional American old time or folk music. Ken is regarded as one of the most influential hammered dulcimer players and old-time fiddlers in the United States and son Brad is a rising star in the claw hammer banjo world. Concert appearances for the duo include The Kennedy Center, The Birchmere and The Baltimore Banjo Showcase as well as numerous other live radio broadcasts, concerts and festivals. Activities include a pirate moon bounce, pony rides, scarecrow building, face painting and hay rides, among others. New this year will be a large inflatable Fire Truck slide. A variety of organizations and City Departments will feature children activities and exhibits. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.

Armistead L. Boothe Park is located near the intersection of Edsall Rd. and Pickett St. adjacent to Samuel L. Tucker Elementary School. Limited parking is available at Armistead L. Boothe Park.
