Monday, February 19th from 1-3 p.m. is the George Washington Birthday Parade. This parade in Old Town Alexandria is “The largest Parade Celebrating Washington’s Birthday in the USA!” The parade dates back to at least 1923 and features bands, floats, wagons, horses, historic reenactment units, youth groups, and special performances.

The 1-mile parade route begins at the intersection of Gibbon & S. Fairfax Streets and ends at Wilkes & S. Royal Streets.

The parade features military, fire, police, EMS, historical reenactment groups (from the 18^th to the 20^th century), performance groups, bands, youth, equestrian and other animal units and civic groups.
